This collar is a study in freeform techniques that result in a beautiful, wearable and versatile neckpiece. Given the many color variations you will find it easy to wear with most anything in your wardrobe. Created primarily with seed beads, this collar uses folds and layers of beads to give a supple texture. I call this technique soft peyote.
Each of the elements which create the suppleness and shape will be illustrated along with many freeform techniques. These will include:
- Creating the folds
- Incorporating larger beads
- Creating open spaces using ladders
- Twisting beaded strands through the open spaces
- Increasing and decreasing to provide texture
- Closures
As well as working with freeform color pallets and blending of colors.
